This PDF contains 8 pages to help you explore the sounds in your child's name and build phonemic or sound awareness in words. Ask your early reader to help you make new words if they can already blend words. Print multiple copies of the “make a new word” page if needed.

Remember this is a very early literacy lesson and your child does NOT need to memorize the sounds in their name. This is more of an exploratory activity and a way to engage a young child's interest in letters.
