This useful PDF contains 12-pages of decodable short stories with a small illustration. Each page focuses on a different spelling pattern for VCe (or silent e/bossy e) or a Vowel Team (ai, ay, ee, ea, oo, ou, ow).

Most words in the story are one syllable. Unfamiliar words or syllable patterns are underlined to prompt the adult to support the early reader. These short stories work best as introductory texts your child can read soon after learning a new sound or sylllable pattern.
